The hardest self control
I don't care who you are, there's nothing better than walking out the door and jumping on a dirt bike. There's something irresistible about the speed and sound of a dirt bike that will make anyone want to ride one. For the longest time I was scared of the idea of a motorcycle, but loved the air and speed, because of this I picked up Downhill mountain biking.
One day I was at my friend's house and he started his dirt bike. Since that day I've fantasized over the idea of riding one. Three years later I had the opportunity. I was at another friends house and he asked if I wanted to ride his dirt bike. I had never worked the clutch or transmission on one but decided it couldn't be that hard so id give it a shot.
After learning how to start it we began to go on trails. At first I was hesitant to go very fast and to shift too fast, however within the next 2 hours I was topped out in 5th gear. It was like Downhill except I could move twice as fast and with twice the confidence I once had.
When I returned home I faced the hard part, convincing my mom. Motorcycles have had a long history of being very dangerous and every mother in America knows this. My logic is that as long as I'm not pushing myself hard and am not on the road I won't have any horribly serious injuries.

For anyone who is considering riding a dirt bike I think it is one of the most fun things you can ever do, no matter who you are.
